Seventeen victims of this summer's fire in Prophetstown received more than $20,000 in checks Monday morning thanks to the fundraising efforts of two Tampico, Illinois women. Jamie Mosher and Kate Fisk started selling "Supporting Prophetstown" t-shirts after the mid-July fire that destroyed eight buildings that doubled as businesses and residences for the victims. Mosher and Fisk said they partnered with Breedlove's in Kewanee, IL for the fundraiser, who produced the t-shirts and gave them to the pair at cost. The women said they originally hoped to sell about 100 – 150 of the shirts. However, the community's outpouring of support, along with word of mouth and social media brought in about 2,300 t-shirt orders as of now.
