SPRINGFIELD, Illinois - Governor J.B. Pritzker says he wants to send more money to all universities in the State of Illinois, but there won't be enough to stop the pink slips at Western Illinois University.
The governor tells reporters in Peoria that he's aware of the latest round of 130-plus layoffs at WIU, but says his budget doesn't include any extra money to stop those layoffs.
Instead, Pritzker says his budget would support all universities in the state.
