Western Illinois University Reviewing Response To Dorm Shooting

Police at Western Illinois University say it took officers two minutes to respond to this week's dorm room shooting in Macomb and another four hours to move students out of the dorm.

KWQC-TV 6 reports the university says it is reviewing its response to the shooting that sent one student to the hospital and led to the arrest of his roommate.

The university says the hope is to see if there are ways to better prepare for the next emergency situation.

Freshman Kavion Poplous is charged with attempted first degree murder. School officials say he shot his roommate in Thompson Hall and police were able to quickly arrest him.
